Product Description:
MBS7252 is a LED driver designed specifically for LED full-color display applications. Users can utilize the pulse width modulation (PWM) feature with 16/15/14/13-bit precision to achieve grayscale control. It incorporates a 16-bit shift register to convert serial input data into grayscale levels for each output channel. The 16 constant-current output channels of MBS7252 are unaffected by the output terminal load voltage, providing consistent and constant output currents. Users can adjust the output current of each stage of MBS7252 by selecting external resistors of different resistance values. Additionally, users can adjust the drive current of the overall LED with 256 levels via programmable current gain adjustment.
The innovative architecture of MBS7252's built-in SRAM supports up to 16-scan LED scanning screens. Users only need to send a complete frame data once and store it in the SRAM of the LED driver chip. This method not only saves data bandwidth but also achieves high grayscale effects at very low data clock frequencies. Through Scrambled-PWM (S-PWM) technology, MBS7252 enhances the PWM feature by dispersing the on-time into several shorter on-times, thus increasing the visual refresh rate of the scanning screen. Furthermore, MBS7252 utilizes GCLK's multiplier technology to double the visual refresh rate without increasing the GCLK frequency.
When constructing a full-color display with 16-bit grayscale, S-PWM can be used to reduce screen flicker. Additionally, the controller only needs to provide data to MBS7252. MBS7252 can adjust the brightness of each corresponding LED based on the input image data, and it can display 16-bit (16,384 grayscale) color variations for each output channel.
Through real-time error detection, MBS7252 can independently detect whether each LED is in an open circuit state without the need for additional external components. Its innovative cross-elimination function addresses the issue of surrounding lamp point errors caused by individual LED defects. Moreover, the built-in blanking circuit of MBS7252 significantly reduces ghosting effects, and the built-in high-contrast interference optimization function enhances display contrast. The low-gray 2x refresh feature of MBS7252 effectively resolves flicker issues caused by insufficient low-gray refresh.
